Plastic Bag creating havoc in the environment

On 31st January 2013, the Pakistan Environment Protection Agency (Pak-Epa) on Thursday notified a regulation prohibiting manufacturing, import, sale and use of non-biodegradable plastic bags and other plastic products in the Islamabad capital territory from April 1.

Being the pioneer company in the field of oxo-biodegradable plastics in Pakistan, as well as the largest importer, distributor and supplier of the Addiflex brand of oxo-biodegradable additives, ACC Polymers is helping customers and clients to make the transition to oxo-biodegradable plastic smoothly and cost-effectively.

Oxo-biodegradable technology is a green technology and will help minimize the grave problem of plastic waste that goes uncollected.

6 Responses to Pakistan bans plastic bag in Capital; to be replaced with oxo-biodegradable plastic

  1. United Palstic Store Islamabad says:

What is the transition plan for Plastic Bags Traders??
How do they contact and sell the Biodeg.
What are the odds of the Stock getting spoiled.

  2. ACC says:

The plan is for a host of plastic items including carry bags, bread and frozen food packaging, mulching films, garbage bags, shrink wraps etc.

The import, manufacture, stockpile, trade, supply, distribute, sell or use of any scheduled plastic product which is non-degradable is prohibited.

We are Pakistan’s #1 company in selling oxo-biodegradable additives under the brand name of Addiflex and can supply you with the additive for making oxo-biodegradable bags.

The odds of stock getting spoiled are less if you follow the instructions correctly and keep the oxo-biodegradation time frame say 20% longer than expected.

  3. Athar Khan says:

I require biodegradable additive. Please get in touch with me. My processing capacity is 100 tonnes per month.

  4. Dr Mohammed Yasin says:

If the basis of oxo-biodegradable plastic is additive mixed with polyethylene, which is inhertanly non-biogradable plastic, how can this be good for the environment when there is higher chance of non-degradable small fragments of polyethylene entering the water system???

I developed truly biodegradable plastic based on polyester for my PhD research that I completed in the UK in 1988.

    • ACC says:

      Dear Dr,

With the Addiflex system no small fragments of non-degradable plastics exist. In fact all fragments reduce their molecular weight to the extent that remaining plastics becomes a source of food for microbes and eventually turn into biomass.
