Add-X Biotech AB Achieves Certificate of Conformity from ESMA in the United Arab Emirates

Add-X Biotech AB is proud to announce the receipt of the Certificate of Conformity given out by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA). This makes Add-X Biotech AB the first and only foreign Oxo-biodegradable additive manufacturer in the UAE to have local production for the region.

This certificate shows that the production, as well as the product AddiFlex®, complies with the standards set out in UAE Standard GSO 5009:2009 “Standard & Specification for Oxo-Biodegradation of Plastic Bags and Other Disposable Plastic Objects”.

Since end of 2012 it has been mandatory in the UAE for producers of plastic bags to use oxo-biodegradable additives in their production. Another list of 25 items is being added for 2014 which will translate into a bigger market size for these additives.

Add-X Biotech AB having set up manufacturing in the region will thus be in a strategically superior position to cater to the needs of their customers and provide suitable products with prompt delivery.
